It is neither a museum nor a themed park, but the original combination of both. As a place for excellence and an entry gate to the Bordeaux vineyards, the Cité des civilisations du vin will house an original and major documentation centre by 2016 : exhibitions, varied cultural exchanges, interactive and multisensory exploration of wine civilizations thanks to a subtle use of cutting-edge technologies. At the top of the rippling edifice, a 35m high belvedere will allow the 400000 visitors expected every year to enjoy the view over the Garonne river and the city… while sipping a glass of wine.
